User account

You are required to have the following three items when registering a new user:

1. Valid email address [ensure it is accurate before registering the user]
2. User name [see guidance below]
3. Temporary password [see guidance below]

Guidance for User Name and Temporary Password

User names must follow these guidelines:

1. New unique user name:
   1. Last name + first letter of first name
      1. Example:
         1. Name: Joe Smith
         2. User Name: smithj
2. If username is already in use:
   1. Last name + first letter of first name + plus any additional letters of first name until a unique user name has been found
      1. Example:
         1. Name: Joe Smith
         2. User Name: smithjo
      2. Example 2:
         1. Name: Joe Smith
         2. User Name: smithjoe

The temporary password must always be tmppwd.
